Innovations - Streetcar iPhone App
We've launched our new iPhone App Version 2.0, available to
download for free, so that now you can access the whole service from your iPhone,
including making bookings of any length and unlocking the vehicle.
This guide explains how to browse, search, book, edit bookings and lock/unlock using
the app.
Map view
The map view shows all Streetcar locations on an easy-to-use Google Map. To center
the map at your current location touch the target button in the top left.
Clicking on a location pin will show you the location name and vehicle count. Select
a pin to view availability.
List view
The list view shows the next three days of availability for your nearest cars in
rows - just like the website booking grid. Touch the target button in the top-left
to center on your current location, or touch a row to select to book.
Find a Streetcar
Touch the search button on the map or list view to filter your view. You can also
make a multiday booking of any length you like by specifying a pick-up and drop-off
date and time. You can also filter by vehicle type - for example automatics only.
Book
Touch once on the availability strip to select a pick-up time, and touch again to
select a drop-off time. The strip shows the next three days - to make longer bookings
just use the search function and choose a pick-up and drop-off date and time. Touch
the info button for details and photos of the location.
Unlock or lock
You can use the iPhone app to unlock your Streetcar up to 5 minutes before your
booking starts. Simply swipe the card once with your finger and wait a few seconds
for the car to unlock. Once you've returned the Streetcar to its bay you can lock
it in the same way.
My Streetcar
My Streetcar shows your account details, lets you view and edit future bookings
and see your recent transaction history. When you first use the app you'll be prompted
to log-in, or if you're not a member you can try the app out or join.
News and offers
The news tab keeps you up to date with all the latest tech innovation, offers and
news - just tap the headline to find out more. The app will also alert you when
new items are added.
