Innovations - Extend by SMS
If you need a bit more time in your car, you can extend your bookings by SMS!
How does it work?
Simply reply to a booking confirmation text message with the word EXTEND
followed by the number of hours you wish to prolong your booking by. For example:
Text Extend 0.5 to increase your booking by half an hour
Text Extend 1 to increase your booking by a full hour, or
Text Extend 2.5 for a two and a half hour extension

What if I have more than one pending booking?
The SMS service will always extend your current booking. If you are not in
the middle of a booking your next upcoming booking will be extended.
Can I extend my booking by just 15 minutes if I'm running late?
It is only possible to extend bookings by half hour intervals.
What if the mobile I'm texting from does not match the number in my Streetcar account?
If your mobile number is not recognised, you'll be asked to reply giving us your
member number and pin to identify you.
How do I know the maximum amount of time my booking can be extended?
If your requested extension conflicts with another member's booking in the same
car, you will receive a reply with information on how much time you have left between
the end of your booking and the start of the next booking in that car.
I've overrun my current booking, can I extend by SMS?
No, if you're already running late you must call Streetcar on 0845 644 8475
and inform our Member Services Team.
I've texted my extension but haven't received a confirmation text - has my booking
been extended?
No extension is valid unless you receive a confirmation text, and extensions aren't
always possible. If you haven't received confirmation or are unsure about an extended
booking, call Streetcar to confirm on 0845 644 8475.
