Joining Streetcar
It costs just £59.50 to join Streetcar for 1 year, or £99 to join for 2 years (saving 17%). Membership includes:
- A Streetcar smartcard
- Fully comprehensive insurance
- A highly-trained support team available 365 days a year
- 24/7/365 breakdown and recovery service
- Streetvan membership for free
Fuel
Unlimited free fuel on longer car trips (subject to fair use, exclusions apply)
For car bookings over 72 hours, the cost of fuel is included (up to a fair use limit of 200 miles per day, excludes peak weekends). For bookings shorter than 72 hours, 30 miles fuel is provided per calendar day, after which additional petrol is charged at 23p per mile.
Please note that the pricing for Transporters only includes 30 free miles per day, irrespective of the
booking length.

Reducing your insurance excess
Fully comprehensive insurance included, excess can be reduced from £9.95 per month
Like most car insurance, ours has an excess. The standard excess is £750. This may be reduced to zero at a cost of £14.95 per month, or to £250 at a cost of £9.95. The higher excess is £1,000, and this may be reduced to zero at a cost of £19.95 per month, or to £250 at a cost of £14.95.
One-way trips
£24.50 within our coverage area
Streetcar is the only car club which lets you collect a car in one place and leave it somewhere else.
For an additional charge of £24.50 you can drop off your Streetcar anywhere within our coverage zone (approximately TFL Zones 1 and 2)
provided it is parked safely and legally for at least 1 hour after your booking. We can provide one-way-trips to most UK and international destinations. Click here for more information.
No London Congestion Charge
Streetcar pays your London Congestion Charges on all bookings.
Despite their environmental benefits, Streetcars are not currently exempt from the Charge.
However, Streetcar will absorb all Congestion Charges accrued during your booking.
Inexperienced driver charge
For drivers aged 24 or under: 9p per mile
Inexperienced drivers are involved in more accidents than experienced drivers.
Reflecting this higher risk of car damage, for members aged 24 or under there is a charge of 9p per mile.
Members with a proven driving history are exempted:
- 2 years of No Claims Bonus from your previous insurer (we will ask you to provide the insurer's certificate).
or

20 trips in a Streetcar without causing any damage.
The charge is applied to all miles driven in a trip, and will appear as a separate transaction line on your account. For example, for a trip of 40 miles, there would be an Inexperienced Driver Charge of £3.60 (and a charge of £2.30 for the petrol: 30 miles free, then 10 miles charged at 23 pence).
